چکیده

Research on the classical plant hormones continues to uncover fascinating interactions between these crucial regulatory compounds.Recent papers describe ‘crosstalk’ between the abscisic acid and ethylene signaling pathways in Arabidopsis, and how the nature of this interaction depends on organ type.Auxin has now been shown to promote the biosynthesis of active gibberellin in pea,by up-regulating mRNA levels of Mendel’s famous stem length gene, LE.These discoveries highlight how interactions can affect signal transduction or hormone biosynthesis.

The effects of interactions between testosterone and ghrelin on mean plasma thyroid hormones concentration in male rats

Ghrelin is an orexigenic peptide synthesized mainly by stomach and hypothalamus. Ghrelin decreases secretion of thyroid hormones. Testosterone is an esteroidogenic hormone that exerts stimulatory effects on Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Thyroid (HPT) axis activity. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of interactions between the central injection of ghrelin and testosterone on me...

Pathological hormone imbalances.

Plant hormones play important roles in regulating developmental processes and signalling networks involved in plant responses to a wide range of biotic and abiotic stresses. Salicylic acid (SA), jasmonates (JA) and ethylene (ET) are well known to play crucial roles in plant disease and pest resistance. However, the roles of other hormones such as abscisic acid (ABA), auxin, gibberellin (GA), cy...

Tomato transcriptome and mutant analyses suggest a role for plant stress hormones in the interaction between fruit and Botrytis cinerea

Fruit-pathogen interactions are a valuable biological system to study the role of plant development in the transition from resistance to susceptibility. In general, unripe fruit are resistant to pathogen infection but become increasingly more susceptible as they ripen. During ripening, fruit undergo significant physiological and biochemical changes that are coordinated by complex regulatory and...

The role of microRNAs and phytohormones in plant immune system

The plant-pathogen interaction is a multifactor process that may lead to resistance or susceptible responses of plant to pathogens. During the arms race between plant and pathogens, various biochemical, molecular and physiological events are triggered in plant cells such as ROS signaling, hormone activation and gene expression reprogramming. In plants, microRNAs (miRNAs) are key post-transcript...

Effect of various concentrations of different growth regulating hormones on callus weight and the amount of thymol of Thymus daenensis.

Thymus daenensisis a perennial plant belonging to Lamiaceae family that is a species endemic to Iran. Due to the indiscriminate use of this plant which possesses medicinal values, T. daenensis tissue culture is suggested to increase the quality and quantity of its effective compounds. Callus cultures using leaf and stem explants were subjected to different hormonal treatments. Ten-millimeter ex...
